On Thursday, 5 February 2026, ISAE SUPAERO and ENAC organised a new edition of the Rendez-vous Aéro de l’Innovation (Aviation Innovation Meetings) on the ISAE-SUPAERO campus in Toulouse. Nearly 150 participants from the academic, institutional and industrial worlds gathered for a day of discussions dedicated to a strategic topic: quantum engineering, at the heart of the second quantum revolution.

A day to explore the challenges of quantum

Faced with the rapid emergence of quantum technologies and their impact on society as a whole – from fundamental research to industrialisation – the event proposed a cross-disciplinary approach based on four main themes:

  • institutional and societal issues
  • the transition from basic research to applications
  • industrialisation and the start-up ecosystem,
  • the training and skills required by tomorrow’s quantum engineers.

The day was opened by Marie-Hélène Baroux, Director General of ISAE-SUPAERO, and Olivier Chansou, Director General of ENAC, underlining the importance of strengthening synergies between education, research and industry to support these major technological transformations.

Top-notch speakers from academia and industry

The various sessions brought together leading experts from research bodies, universities and major industrial players such as Thales, ONERA, Observatoire de Paris, PASQAL, ID Quantique, Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space.

Lectures, technical pitches and poster sessions covered a wide range of subjects: quantum computing and algorithms, sensors and secure communications, quantum photonics, optimisation for aeronautical planning and space applications.

Training the quantum engineers of tomorrow

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the round table on training prospects, which brought together representatives from industry and institutions such as CNES to discuss the skills needed to support the rapid development of these technologies.

Discussions highlighted the importance of interdisciplinarity and cooperation between higher education establishments and industry, as well as the ongoing adaptation of engineering curricula to new scientific challenges.

Nearly 150 participants attended this year's Aero Innovation Rendezvous on the ISAE-SUPAERO campus in Toulouse!

A collective drive for innovation

The day ended with the TSAAE LAB research directorate, underlining the partners’ shared desire to continue developing a dynamic innovation ecosystem around quantum technologies and their applications in aeronautics and space.

Through the richness of the exchanges and the diversity of the profiles brought together, this 2026 edition confirms the role of the Aero Innovation Rendezvous as a privileged forum for dialogue between research, education and industry.
